AIM is a
voluntary
organization
with a clear
objective to
promote
community
relation and
facilitate the
intellectual and
cultural bonding
of people
through Indian
music and dance
in UK. Indian
music has a very
long unbroken
tradition
acquired through
interaction and
interweaving of
race and culture
for ages.
We at AIM, aim
to bring the
best flavour of
traditional
classical Indian
music and
contemporary
music which
reflects today's
world. For
everyone to
enjoy the
flavour of
Indian music we
arrange concerts
in different
parts of UK
mainly in areas
where there is
no significant
presence of
organizations
doing the same
AIM takes pride
in undertaking
the challenges
to reach and
give opportunity
to young pupils
from schools and
colleges and
university to
appreciate and
learn about
Indian music
through
different
workshops and
lecture
demonstrations.
This also gives
us a chance to
value and
promote artists
of outstanding
calibre from UK
and abroad.
The other area
we are seriously
working on is to
make a platform
for good music,
where Indian and
western music go
hand in hand and
enrich each
other. It is
relevant in
today's world
where racial and
religious
anomalies often
instigate people
to exterminate
each other. Our
classical music
is an art which
shares common
roots with the
systems of
Indian Yoga and
meditation and
is fundamentally
transcendental
in nature, a
music which not
only entertains
but also
tranquilises the
mind and
nourishes the
human mind
intellectually
and spiritually.
We firmly
believe that
sowing the seeds
of such an art
form is a
positive step
towards making
the society a
more benevolent
place to live.
